What a hoot that we picked the same photo to use as a painting reference!!! My mother lives about 2 miles away from that scene, and I have painted the area numerous times. If you look at the photograph that we worked from, you will see a very faint outline of mountains way off in the distance. Those are the California coastal mountains on the other side of Monterey bay where Asilomar is located. Happy painting in the beautiful nation of Turkey!
